Understanding Utility Consolidated Billing for Community Solar
Your community solar subscription will give you the benefits of clean energy without installing solar panels on your property (or doing any of the work at all). Instead of owning or leasing panels, you will receive community solar credits from a local solar farm (no hookups required) and save money on electricity while contributing to a cleaner world.
Utility Consolidated Billing with Nexamp - one bill, one payment
You’ll pay for your community solar credits as part of your regular utility bill, making it easy to track your savings and manage your energy costs. Only available in select markets.
How you save with Nexamp Utility Consolidated Billing
Once you're placed on a farm and approved by your utility, you will start to see community solar line items on your utility bill. The community solar credits you generate will appear on your utility bill as a negative line item, lowering the amount you owe to your utility provider. Another line on the bill will be the cost of those credits shown as a positive amount that directly supports your solar project.
You save on electricity costs because Nexamp discounts the credits you generate. For example, if your discount is 10%, you will only pay $90 for $100 of electricity.
Pay as usual to enjoy your savings
Your utility bill covers both your energy usage and your community solar participation. To continue receiving community solar savings, just keep paying your utility bill as usual.
How savings work throughout the year
Solar energy production changes with the seasons. Don’t worry—these changes balance out, and you’ll still save money over the course of a full year. In the summer you will generate more community solar credits than you will need. These credits will be available for you later in the year to offset your winter electricity bills. Over the course of the year, you'll achieve savings on your total annual electricity costs.
