Once your farm is live and producing solar electricity, you will begin to see monthly reductions in your utility bills based on the amount of solar energy your portion of the solar farm generates. The credits are valued by the utility and will look different depending on your service territory. To help guide you, we have provided graphics below. Please note that your credit amounts will vary monthly, and these are only examples.
Central Maine Power (CMP):
If you are serviced by Central Maine Power, your solar credits will be listed under the “Your Generation Details” section as a kWh value listed under Allocated Generation.
If Nexamp is actively billing you for solar credits and you would like to learn more, please watch the video.
The design of the program is that you receive credits for what your share of the farm has generated each month. Your solar generation will reduce the number of kWh that your utility bills you for each month. You can match the “Allocated Generation” column of your relevant Central Maine Power bill with the “kWh Generated” figure listed on your Nexamp invoice.
Regardless of how much solar energy your share produces, Nexamp’s reductions cannot offset the first 50 kWh or the minimum service charge. Always make sure to check if there are remaining expenses due to your utility since solar generation and your electricity usage can vary greatly throughout the year.
Versant:
If you are serviced by Versant, your solar credits will be listed as “Credits Received” under the Net Energy Billing Credits section.
If Nexamp is actively billing you for solar credits and you would like to learn more, please watch the video.
