For residential customers, we offer a flexible contract that allows you to consistently see savings and adjust your preferences to meet your changing electricity needs. In Massachusetts, you’re guaranteed your discounted credits for 20 years after the solar farm goes live.
If you wish to cancel your community solar subscription, you can do so at no additional cost. To cancel, please reach out to our customer support team via email at support@nexamp.com or by phone at 855-727-4636.
For customers on a live solar farm with Nexamp:
As stated in the “Early Termination” section of your contract with Nexamp, your cancelation is effective once the utility company removes your name from the subscriber list for your solar farm, and this may take up to 6 months due to local utility company rules. During the processing period, your subscription is still earning community solar credits and you may see those credits applied to a subsequent utility bill. This means you are responsible for any Nexamp invoices with production periods that occurred during this process.
It is important to note that Nexamp bills our services in arrears, so there is always a delay between when you see credits on your utility account and when we bill you. This is because we are waiting for confirmation from the utility that credits have been placed on your account. This explains why you would likely receive Nexamp invoices after your cancelation request date. You will not be invoiced by Nexamp for credits from solar production beyond the date listed in your cancelation confirmation email which you should have received after you've requested cancelation.
If you have a credit bank on your utility account (negative balance), this bank is yours to keep so long as you have an active utility account. The utility will continue to offset usage costs using credits from the bank until there is no longer a negative balance to draw from.
