If you used $100 of electricity, and your share of the farm generated $100, you’d pay your utility $0. Bill credits are applied by utilities directly and Nexamp bills you for these credits separately. With a 12.5% discount, you’d pay Nexamp $87.50 for $100 worth of solar credits.
Community solar subscribers receive two monthly bills – one from their local utility with solar credits listed as a negative line item or as a kWh offset, and one from Nexamp for the credits applied to their utility bill. You will first receive your utility bill with the credits applied. Nexamp will then send you a bill for the credits generated by your share of the solar farm. We discount those credits so that you save on your electricity costs while supporting renewable energy.
