Once your farm is live and producing solar electricity, you will begin to see monthly reductions in your utility bills based on the amount of solar energy your portion of the solar farm generates. The credits are valued by the utility and will look different depending on your service territory. To help guide you, we have provided graphics below. Please note that your credit amounts will vary monthly, and these are only examples.
Your solar credits will be listed in the Electric Charges and Credits section on the right side of page 1 under the “Shared Solar Program” section. This section will have three line items. The first is a negative line item (indicated by CR next to the dollar amount, as in “credit”) called the Shared Solar Bill Credit – this lowers the amount you owe to your utility provider for that month. Then, you will see the SO Subscription Fee which represents the payment of your community solar credits minus Nexamp’s discount – this is how you save. This cost will be passed on to us to directly support your community solar project. You will also see that your utility adds a 1% “Shared Solar Net Crediting Fee” based on the total amount of your monthly credits. This fee goes to your utility to process your shared solar credit and bill payment.
